Foundational Living
Do you ever have something that just keeps coming up in life? I’m like okay God, I get it..foundations..that’s where the work needs to be for me right now.
I have this tendency to get sudden bursts of life energy and tend to try to do all the things all at once. Can you relate? I get the creative juices flowing and it’s hard to reel myself back to focus in on the basics before trying to do it all. It’s a cycle that always ends in burnout. It’s not sustainable. I am discovering that it isn’t sustainable, because the ideas are being added to a shaky foundation. I get ambitious and try to jump straight from point A to point D while forgetting about the small steps (B & C) that are just as important. As I’m noticing this, the word foundation just keeps popping up in all areas of my life. Do you ever have something that just keeps coming up for you across all settings? I’m like - okay God, I get it..foundations..that’s where the work needs to be for me right now.
Once you have a strong foundation, you can continue to build onto that and growth happens. Without foundation, you can try to build and get momentum, but eventually, things will come crashing down. That is what has happened again and again for me. But, as I consistently show up, the foundations are growing stronger. You see, building a strong foundation doesn’t mean it’s perfect. There may be a few uneven patches or cracks along the way. That’s okay. It’s about building on your FOUNDATION consistently. It is about showing up every day, even when things don’t look perfect.
It’s in the showing up daily, that you build a strong foundation.
